December 14, 2016 AMSJ

Congratulations to Bedford Group (a disability employer in SA), winner of the 2016 Workplace Participation Reward!

Bedford demonstrated outstanding spirit, participation, creativity and sustainability during 2016 National Safe Work Month.

Bedford’s BSafe campaign raised awareness about work health and safety in a fun, positive and engaging way. Activities were focused on the catchphrase ‘see something…say something’ and included work health and safety videos starring Bedford staff, discussion groups, posters and a reward program recognising outstanding safety awareness and responsible behaviour. A creative spot the hazard activity pack also provided an interactive experience to cater for the diverse capacities of Bedford employees.

For their efforts, Bedford will receive a prize valued at up to $5,000 to be spent on an Australian work health and safety conference, expo or event in 2017.

You can read more about the winning entry on the Safe Work Australia case studies web page.

Safe Work Australia would also like to highly commend the City of Ballarat, Fremantle Ports, NHP Electrical Engineering Products and Taronga Conservation Society for their Workplace Participation Reward entries.

Thank you to all of the organisations around Australia who participated in National Safe Work Month and entered the Workplace Participation Reward. Through your efforts you have helped to raise awareness of work health and safety.
