Barminco has achieved recertification in health & safety management systems as part of its focus on quality assurance across its broader business The company was recently re-certified for ISO Certifications for Occupation Health and Safety Management System (AS 4801) and Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001).
Barminco qualified for the ISO certifications in 2009. The strength of the Barminco systems is reflected in the continually improving safety statistics. For example, Barminco’s Loss Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR) reduced to 0.8 per million man hours in 2013-14, which represents a 50% decrease since 2009-10.

“Safety improvement is a journey that never ends. The audit process has been a great experience for the company. I applaud the coordination of the project, which led to its success,” said Chief Executive Officer, Peter Stokes. “We will continue to reinforce our strong safety culture, for the benefit of our people and our clients.”
New initiatives have been implemented to empower Barminco’s leaders to lead by example and mentor employees. These tools impressed the SAI Global Auditors during the re-certification processes, commenting that Barminco’s ‘on site Safety Management System tools are some of the best initiatives they have seen’.

The safety of each and every member of our team has to take unconditional priority at all times. Our effective and capable Safety and Quality Management Systems enable our team to convert our focus into actions.”
