Broken Hill mine death under investigation

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner following an incident at a mine outside of Broken Hill on Sunday afternoon.

According to police, a 55-year-old man was discovered unresponsive by a co-worker in an underground area of the mine at about 3.30pm.

The man was evacuated out of the mine and treated by ambulance paramedics, but died on the way to hospital.

Police said they are working with relevant parties to investigate the incident.
