Mining will be an important focus for Manitou at the forthcoming Bauma show in Munich in April. New innovations being showcased include its largest tyre handler to date, the TH63/12000 which has a 12,000 kg capacity to move the biggest 63 in tyres in open pit mines. Use of these dedicated and advanced attachments is important for the safety & efficiency of tyre management operations at large mines.

The company will also launching its new MHT 12330 telehandler with applicability in mining maintenance tasks such as maintaining large excvavators in the pit. It has a lifting height of 11.76 m and a loading capacity of 33 t on forks and 35 t on hook with a DEUTZ Stage V 245 hp engine. The benefits include the high capacity on forks or hook, versatility, with the large attachments range and that despite its size it is easy-to-use, utilising the same cab as smaller machines. The machine also has floating fork positioners with a 100% rough terrain design for demanding mining applications.

Underground, Manitou offers its mining platform, a rugged attachment developed for underground mining applications with maximal structural resistance to withstand the harshest working conditions & shocks (3 t impact). It has a 1,200 kg/three people capacity and is aimed at applications for lifting mining workers & materials. It is also EN280 compliant meaning it reaches the more stringent safety standards.
