The Queensland Resources Council (QRC) is the peak representative body for the state’s minerals and energy sector and is seeking applications for the position of Manager, Safety and Health. Reporting directly to the Queensland Resources Council’s Deputy Chief Executive, the Manager will contribute to Queensland Resource’s Council policy development and implementation with a primary focus on workplace health and safety.
The Manager will be required to conduct independent research, prepare submissions, briefing papers and other written materials and assist in developing advice across a range of QRC strategic policy areas, with a focus on health and safety. The position also provides a secretariat function for QRC’s Health and Safety Standing Committee.
Working with QRC members and stakeholders on concurrent policy issues, this is a demanding and satisfying position that will suit an individual with well-developed policy and stakeholder consultation skills as well as high-level critical thinking, analytical, written and oral communication skills.
This role will suit an individual with qualifications in health and safety, law, resources, or equivalent qualifications relevant to safety and health in Queensland’s minerals and energy industry. Experience in Government policy development and/or in an industry association would be highly regarded. This position offers an attractive remuneration package which will be negotiated with the
