Safety Advisor – High Risk Work (Cranes/Working at Heights)

ISH24 specialises in the delivery of Confined Space & Safety Services. They are currently seeking experienced Safety Advisors to join their team for various shutdown works over the next few months.

Previous experience within heavy industries (Mining/Power/Construction) is essential including proven previous safety advisor roles undertaken.

To be successful in this role you will need to work as part of a team and have great communication skills, professional attitude and a personal commitment to ensuring safety in the workplace. Experience in various high risk work including heavy crane lifts OR Worksafe Assessing OR Working at Heights experience in training would be highly regarded.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with work groups to conduct risk assessments, identify and assess risks, implement controls and reduce workplace injury and incidents
  • Ensure compliance with legislation relating to duty of care, workplace activities and the use of plant, equipment and substances
  • Ensure compliance with client procedures and safe work practises
  • Monitor employee hazard identification and encourage safe work practise
  • Undertake safety audits including constructive feedback to work groups
  • Ensure Personal Protective Equipment is adequate to the work task, work area and site procedures
  • Record and report hazards and incidents in accordance with client systems and procedures
  • Assistance with post incident investigations and reporting
  • Proactively work with a team of safety professionals
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to supervisors, employees and contractors
  • Conduct pre-shift safety topics effectively

Skills & Experience:

  • Formal HSE Qualifications essential (Minimum Cert IV OHS)
  • Minimum 5+ years experience in a HSE role
  • A clear understanding of risk management principals
  • Ability to understand and apply relevant OHS legislation
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate and develop risk assessments
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise work tasks effectively
  • High level of problem solving and customer service skills
  • Professional integrity with respect to matters such as confidentiality
  • Positive attitude, motivated, proactive and a strong work ethic
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • High level of computer literacy skills
