Fitzroy Australia Resources advises that on Monday 27 July at its Carborough Downs mine, two of its coal mine workers were struck by a piece of coal which became detached from a rib in a development area.

First aid was administered to the two employees on site who were then transferred to Moranbah Hospital for observation. One employee remained in hospital overnight for further observation.
Queensland Ambulance said one of the workers had suspected head and spinal injuries and the other with hand and shoulder injuries.
Mining activities in the development panels were suspended immediately following the incident pending the outcome of an investigation by the Company and the Queensland Mines Inspectorate.
Eleven months ago 57-year-old miner, Brad Duxbury was killed at the Carborough Downs mine.
A surface fall of ground at the mine in April last year had blocked two of the portals on the entrance to the underground.
Three workers at the site were also diagnosed with Coal Workers Pneumoconiosis in 2016
