YOUR RELATIONSHIPS ask della I have heard of something called a “key man event” as a way to start a new social circle. How does it work? Dianne, Sydney NSW To start a KEY MAN EVENT or “Group Date” you need two single people. If you can find two or even three others, that is better. Then, each Key Man (single person) invites one other single person of the opposite sex to the event. The rule is that if they want to attend, they must invite one person of the opposite sex. Start with something easy say drinks at a club and dinner once a month. I have heard of ones where they go to a different person’s home every month. Everyone brings a dish. Make a commitment to having one key man event every week for a period of three months. Collectively choose venues. Get each other’s email addresses and phone numbers and keep in touch. Befriend people you meet at these events. When you’re “group dating”, always look for and talk to other singles that you can make acquaintance with and maybe invite to your key man events so that your group and you’re social net work is always growing and changing. I am concerned about how I will look. The years have taken their toll. What can I do to look younger? Shauna, Sydney NSW I understand.
