CONFERENCE COVERAGE EASURING AND MANAGING SAFETY IN MINING The 2011 Safety in Mining Conference will explore how to build a culture of safety and also how to set a safety process for severe natural disasters. Who have specific responsibility in Training, Safety, OH&S, Mine Management, Corporate Governance, Risk Management, Emergency Management and Organisational Development. As a result of the incredible growth in the mining industry, there is an increased emphasis on issues of safety. This has been further emphasised by the recent pressure on Australian mining companies to increase production without losing focus on safety excellence, combined with a number of recent, highly publicised mining accidents, including mine sites in Chile and New Zealand. To help overcome these issues, the Measuring and Managing Safety in Mining Conference will bring together experts from the leading mining companies and government to discuss and debate how to meet productivity demand through an organisational culture of safety. This event will be held on the 29th and 30th of June, 2011 at the Novotel Perth Langley, Perth. The conference will include an overview of industry leading KPIs for proactively monitor safety processes and reducing the likelihood of incidents; practical strategies to cultivate an organisational culture of safety and developing safety leadership within line management; information on the harmonisation of OHS frameworks required for your organisation as well as tips and tools to on how to implement a proactive management plan to build greater resiliency in the face of natural disasters.
