Leading site services NMMS Pty Ltd (trading as National Mine Maintenance Services) undertakes Facility Maintenance, Civil works and Project works on mine sites in the Central Queensland Bowen Basin. The business commenced on 1 July 2003 through the acquisition of J P Ahearn Plumbing by Gavin and Jill Beazley. Since its inception in 2003 the business has grown strongly. NMMS is currently owned and managed by Gavin Beazley as Managing Director and William Feeney as Commercial Director. The Directors are supported by a solid management team of 16, with a combined 200+ years' mining and contracting experience, and a total workforce of over 100 full-time personnel. Throughout NMMS growth the staff have maintained an extremely high commitment to safety, achieving an enviable safety record of over three and a half years without a single recordable lost time injury. N MMS has developed a unique operating model focused on Safety, Compliance, Profes- sionalism & Budgets (NMMS 'SCPB' Model). Management has spent considerable time and resources establishing signifi cant business infrastruc- ture to support the business' current opera- tional needs and future planned growth. The combination of a clearly articulated business model and commitment to investing in the business requirements has seen NMMS obtain industry fi rst contracts with major coal miners BMA. NMMS has a very diverse range of capabilities and proven track record on both small routine jobs through to medium capital projects. NMMS pioneered the "packaged" Site Services management system, being able to manage routine and non-routine work performed by NMMS itself, or subcontractors. This system has demonstrable benefi ts for large asset managers, such as mine sites and government infrastructure.
