GAGAL can prepare your business for the upcoming industrial boom! Gladstone Area Group Apprentices Ltd (GAGAL) is a not for profit community-based organisation which has, as its core business, the management of apprentices and trainees through group training arrangements. This uniquely Australian concept allows industry to "share" in the employing and training of trade based apprentices and ensures that trade based apprentices receive exposure to all facets of their trade through rotational arrangements. G AGAL's head office is located in Gladstone where it works in partnership with small to medium sized enterprises as well as large multinational industries such as Bechtel, BG-Group, Santos, Origin Energy, Queensland Alumina Limited, Boyne Smelters Limited, Rio Tinto, Cement Australia, Orica and the Gladstone Ports Corporation. GAGAL has grown to be a multi faceted diverse organisation with offices throughout Central Queensland catering for the resource sector as well as the new CSG/LNG industry. Despite this expansion, GAGAL has never lost sight of its community base and has continued to work and service the Central Queensland Region now for over 26 years. To accommodate for the rise in industry growth throughout the region and better service the community, GAGAL has regional offices in Biloela and Rockhampton which focus on servicing the resource sector. This ensures a quality service throughout the Central Queensland region. GAGAL also operates a range of commercial workshops in Gladstone which provide manufacturing and construction services as well as college training in the trades of metal fabrication, diesel fitting, fitting and turning, carpentry, cabinetmaking, painting and decorating, plumbing and electrical. This supports a number of additional services offered that focus on school-to- work transition and employability skills training. GAGAL provides accredited and non-accredited courses in Safety Training including Safe Working at Heights and Confined Space Training. With 26 years experience servicing the Central Queensland region, GAGAL truly believes that 'facilitating safe skills development through the employment and training of apprentices and trainees will better service the needs of industry and our community' and is the key to success. 106 QLD Mining and Energy Bulletin Summer 2011/12 [Products and Services Showcase] Apprenticeships and Trainees
