This article outlines what benefits are on off er and how best to take advantage. Government Senior Cards Eligibility All Australian state and territory governments off er benefits to Seniors Card holders. Conditions of eligibility for all states and territory residents are set at a minimum age of 60 years. Further limits apply to paid employment: NSW, ACT, SA, Tasmania limit paid employment to 20 hours a week, WA to 25 hours a week, and Victoria and Queensland to 35 hours a week.* Benefits Transport Public transport concessions apply in every state and territory for Seniors Card holders, and vary from state to state; however from 1 January 2009 as part of the former Rudd government's $50 million national agreement, National Seniors Transport Scheme, seniors can now access concession fares on interstate public transport systems. Prior to this, Seniors Card holders were entitled to public transport concessions exclusively within their own state.
