ACCESS CONTROL Who’s on your mine site? Safety and Access control systems Mine safety and security are top priorities for the mining sector, given the high-risk nature of the industry and the public interest mining activities attract. Having the appropriate strategies in place to protect the mining company’s people, assets and reputation is critical to your organisation’s ongoing success. One system to suit all job sizes The Blue Glue (BG) National Safety System (NSS) scales like no other product, it doesn’t matter if you’re a Tier 1, 2 or 3 construction company – we have a solution that will grow seamlessly with your organisation. Be flexible and safe with your site deployment When combined with BG Access Control products, entry to your site will be managed by the site business rules that you have defined. Each person requiring access is provided with a re-usable, Multi-Site capable BG smartcard which will control access to the site based on permissions and controls that you have specified. This reduces your risk of unqualified, uninsured or untrained personnel gaining access to site. The BG smartcard cannot be replicated – unlike traditional barcodes and magnetic stripe cards. The BG NSS provides live data on who is onsite and is updated in real-time. Evacuations are monitored live by your safety staff with an immediate missing persons list generated for outstanding evacuation management. Missing personnel alerts and fatigue alerts are automatically generated via email, SMS or both. HR System Integration Duplication of systems increases costs and complicates your operations. Accuracy of common data between HR and OHS&E systems is often compromised by human error during repetitive entry. BG NSS can integrate with other essential business systems to truly connect head office with the coal face and save money by automatically sharing information in real-time. Cost effectiveness BG not only gives you confidence that your work force is compliant, insured and competent, but does so incredibly efficiently. The single card, multi-site approach is secure and means that data is entered once only. Time costs of data collection are distributed by use of a subcontractor portal and distributed AUSTRALASIAN MINE SAFETY JOURNAL 61 nationally to all sites so that essential safety and competency data for a mobile workforce always stays current. Physical control devices such as smartcard readers, turnstiles and BG computer equipment are re-usable on subsequent projects, saving up to 70 per cent of hardware costs on future site rollouts. Total cost of ownership is reduced with every subsequent deployment. Convenient access to your OHS&E System The BG NSS delivers HR efficiencies to managers on the ground via iPad-delivered forms and audits. Live data is accessible for view and update to all staff either in the office or onsite. Allow your team to access the system data as a practical tool to maximise safety and efficiency.
