Followmont Transport proudly servicing Queensland Followmont Transport Pty Ltd was established in 1983 by Alan Salpietro and Bernie Tobin, starting out in a small offi ce in Stones Corner, Brisbane. Over the years continued growth has necessitated moving to new premises, culminating in April 2009 with a move to our new 4ha corporate head offi ce facility at Eagle Farm. I nitially founded as a company specialising in the delivery of magazines, newspapers and printed materials in Queensland, Alan and Bernie soon diversifi ed into general freight. It was not long before the pharmaceutical and many other industries recognised the benefi ts of the express road freight service offered by Followmont, sparking a surge in growth that is still continuing. Today Followmont has nearly 570 employees and runs a fl eet of more than 500 vehicles throughout Queensland. Our growth has resulted in the opening of fi ve new Followmont owned depots in the past two years, taking us to 20 company owned depots, including the following Central Queensland locations: Dysart, Moranbah, Emerald. Followmont Transport is now the largest independently owned transport company in Queensland, and is the preferred Queensland carrier for many national companies and other transport businesses. Our company depots provide an infrastructure that is unique within the transport industry in Queensland.
